Dr. Brownlee has resided in Tulsa since 1969. After completing his ear, nose, and throat residency in Dallas , Texas he moved back to Tulsa.

He has been a partner in Eastern Oklahoma Ear Nose & Throat since 1988. Dr. Brownlee has served as a member of the Medical Executive Committee at St. Francis Hospital , and as President of the Otolaryngology section. He is a past-president of the Oklahoma Academy of Otolaryngology and has been Secretary of the Tulsa Surgical Society. He served on the Board of Directors at Southcrest Hospital from 1999-2004.

Dr. Brownlee is a Clinical Associate professor with the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He is the coordinator for the Otolaryngology department of the Tulsa Medical College .

Dr. Brownlee and his wife have four children. He loves horses and is a competitive rider.
